iPill Get Back to Life
70Ipill : Use Ipill as prevention is better than abortion
Ipill is a 'Ray of Hope'
Ipill, launched by Cipla in August 2007. Ipill is a leader in the Emergency Contraceptive pills. Ipill is a ‘Ray of Hope’ for all those women who’ve had unprotected sex, but do not wish to conceive. Ipill is an ECP that should be used in case of an emergency only.
Ipill will not interrupt
the normal secretion of hormones if taken in emergency cases. When ipill is
taken, Levonogestral temporarily alters the hormones in order to create a
temperature which will not allow pregnancy to get established.
According to estimated figures, every year there are 5 million unsafe abortions, and 78% of pregnancies are unexpected. It is heard that abortion (both oral and surgical) can cause grave damages to the reproductive system. This can cause various complications like not being able to conceive again, frequent miscarriage, premature delivery, etc. Surgical abortion can also cause bladder and bowel injury.
With Cipla ipill, one can now prevent an unplanned pregnancy after unprotected sex.
What if you are worried that might get pregnant after last night? Relax. There may still be time to do something about it before you conceive. There’s the new i-pill. Ipill is an emergency contraceptive pill from Cipla, meant just for such delicate situations. Take only one ipill as soon as you know that things have gone wrong. But not later than 72 hours of unprotected sex. And you can prevent an unplanned pregnancy. That’s it. And do be a little more careful the next time. Now there goes the alarm. Switch it off and begin your new day. Ipill is available without a prescription at all chemist outlets. Ipill is neither a contraceptive nor an abortion pill. Ipill is not a substitute for condoms and does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS. Few questions in your mind while taking ipill.
How does ipill work?
Ipill can work in any of the three different ways depending on where you may be in your menstrual cycle:
• Ipill may stop an egg being released from the ovary.
• If an egg has already been released, ipill may prevent the sperm from fertilizing it.
• If the egg is already fertilized, ipill may prevent it from attaching itself to the lining of the womb. I-pill is ineffective if the pregnancy is established (i. e. the fertilized egg has attached itself to the womb). Ipill is therefore not an abortion pill.
When is it appropriate to use ipill?
If you have had unprotected sex and want to prevent a pregnancy, you should take ipill as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours of unprotected sex. ipill is useful as a backup birth control method under the following circumstances:
• Contraceptive failure
• Unprotected sex
• Improper use of your regular birth control method
• Forced sex
What are the directions for taking ipill?
ipill is an oral tablet. Ipill should be swallowed with some water after food.
How effective is ipill?
The sooner you take ipill, the more effective it is. ipill decreases your chances of getting pregnant by 84-90% when taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
How safe is ipill? Does ipill have any side effects?
ipill has been approved by scientific and regulatory authorities as a safe way to prevent pregnancy after contraceptive failure or unprotected sex. ipill has no long-term or serious side effects. Nausea, vomiting, headache, lower abdominal pain, a feeling of breast tenderness, irregular bleeding and delayed menstrual bleeding are some common side effects after taking ipill. All this should stop within a day or two after consumption of ipill. In case your periods are delayed by more than a week, please consult your doctor.
